Power of Community Week: April 21-26

This past week was Wisconsin Bankers Association’s eighth annual Power of Community Week and we were proud to participate! We are happy to help support and strengthen our communities... not only during Power of Community Week, but year-round. It is always wonderful to see you, strengthen our relationships, and better the communities where we live and serve.

We’re excited to celebrate YOU, our amazing customers, with a week of fun and appreciation! Join us June 9-13 at our Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton locations and June 16-20 at Community Bank of Portage for our Customer Appreciation Celebration. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Yesterday we held our annual shareholders meeting at the Kalahari Convention Center where we reflected on the past year’s achievements and shared our vision for the future. Thank you to our shareholders for your continued support and trust in BWD!

We are looking for a detail oriented, self-motivated, team player to join our BWD team as a Junior Credit Analyst. This is a hands-on role requiring technical skills to spread and analyze financial statements, prepare loan presentations, and complete required cash flows, debt ratios, debt service coverage, and covenant testing. Go to dellsbank.bank/employment-opportunities for more information and to apply.

As a valued BWD customer, we want to keep you informed and prepared, especially when it comes to your financial well-being. If you've recently closed on a mortgage with us, you might start noticing some official-looking mail arriving from other companies.

These solicitations often focus on things like refinancing offers or mortgage protection plans. What's important to be aware of is that these mailings may sometimes include the name "Bank of Wisconsin Dells" or make a reference to your recent mortgage transaction. They might even include figures that seem similar to your loan details. Often, our name might appear in a prominent place, like the return address window, to encourage you to open the mail.

We want to be clear: these marketing materials are not sent by Bank of Wisconsin Dells, and we do not endorse them. We respect your privacy and do not share your specific loan information with these external marketing companies for the purpose of generating these solicitations.

So, where do these companies get your information? Typically, they utilize publicly available records associated with mortgage transactions, such as filings at the local Register of Deeds office. This information is accessible within the industry and is used to identify new homeowners.

While some of these offers might be legitimate advertisements, it's always wise to approach unsolicited financial mail with caution. These materials can sometimes be designed to create a sense of urgency or appear more official than they actually are.

Here's what we recommend:

  • Be discerning: Just because a mailing mentions Bank of Wisconsin Dells doesn't mean it's from us.
  • Don't feel pressured: Take your time to evaluate any offers.
  • Verify directly: If you have any doubt about the legitimacy of a communication that claims to be from or related to Bank of Wisconsin Dells, please contact us directly. You can call us at 608-253-1111 or visit any of our branches. We're happy to help you clarify whether a communication is genuinely from us.
  • Bring in the letter: You can provide us with the deceptive letters so we can report them to the proper authorities.

At Bank of Wisconsin Dells, our priority is to provide you with trusted financial services and clear communication. We appreciate your business and want to ensure you feel confident and informed about your financial matters.
